School is the place to learn subjects like language, science, mathematics. Some people believe that getting high score in each subject, passing exams to enter high-level school are more important than obtaining practical skills and various life experiences. Nowadays, there are some entertainment events which are useful for children’s education, such as sports club activities and cultural activities. Some people think that the leisure events are educationally time-wasting. However actually, they are quite valuable for young generation to learn some important things to live in our world. This essay discusses about both view point.

Learn social skills

First of all, some leisure activities provide opportunities to learn social skills, such as organizing skills and responsibilities about their role. Since children don’t know what’s the strength and weakness yet, this is great chance to know what they are good at or not. Extreme hard training can be challenge for children to know to what extend they can do. Spirit of what I want to win, respect opponent, taking care of members who share hard time and feeling, nourish healthy body and spirit. Children can learn both collaboration and cooperation. It leads to being high self-esteem.

Survival skills

Another example, participation of outdoor activities such as camp provide children with opportunities to learn practical skills. Their daily life is well-organized with electronic equipment, gas, water. They don’t know how non-technology life work unlike elderly generation. Some children may not know how to cook without gas/electronic equipment, how to wash cloths without washing machine, which direction is North from star in night sky. Those skills must be helpful to survive worst case situation. Those time might be unforgettable great memories for young generation in the future. Therefore, events should be introduced in schools.

Decision-making skills

Secondly, playing games, which are not only sport but also card/board game, are good practice for developing decision-making process later on. In the case of card games or board games, each movement has influence on opponent’s next movement. Therefore, player have to plan and assess carefully in order to win the game. The development of strategies normally requires careful planning and assessment of situation. For right-decision-making, a similar set of skills is needed to succeed. These skills cannot be acquired in normal lessons like science, history and math classes. Therefore, some entertainment events ought to be introduced in schools.

Conclusion

It’s said that play fair in game. Fair attitude nourish justice for children. Nowadays, there are many adults who don’t have enough interpersonal/soft skill. Whatever subject score is good, whatever graduating from high level school, if there are no practical life skills, it’ll have negative impact on the life. Schools are not only the place learning subjects but also obtaining some important lie skills in this world. I think, therefore, entertainment events should be introduced in schools.
